SQL Server comes in various flavours called Editions. SQL Server
Editions are nothing but the same product with all the features marked
and bundled into various names to meet different user requirements. Some
Editions do not have the features that other editions have.
The various editions of SQL Server 2005 and 2008 are
Enterprise
Developer
Standard
Workgroup
Express
SQL Server 2008 R2 has introduced two more editions to meet growing needs of the industry. These are
Datacenter
Parallel Data Warehouse
