Comment: This is a post i am porting from another blog! An old note.
About 6 months back, Kyle was working with Nerd-Dinner and MVC. He had been showing us the sample built in MVC app. and asking us to look into that. Well, it had been difficult, just to find time. It had been on my Employee stuff, but i have never gotten to it. I had targeted the whole process of doing tests, mvc and ci(just to learn) and had told KenF the same. But it never happened.
Well, anyways, that has changed now. We are all in to MVC- hardcore, i guess, doing tests first, checking in to the TeamCity CI server our code and making sure that we don't screw stuff up. Now, this is our "Process".
The very first thing that we did after Ray first came over, is watch a Nerd-Dinner demo and also code along. Four of us - (Chris, Me, Xing and Saurabh) we all sat in the Sauna and started doing Nerd-Dinner.
It was fun! but we coudn't finish the whole app/video. Come afternoon, we were deep in the MVC version of SRS.
About Nerd-Dinner
It's a dinner-meeting set up App. This is a sample application built by these guys
Scott Hanselman,
Rob Connery,
Phil Haack,
Scott Guthrie
the authors of the book Professional ASP.NET MVC 1.0,
where they try to introduce ASP.NET MVC by building a whole working application.
This is a great primer for beginners and this is where we wanted to start- as beginners.
These guys are the also the fore-front of ASP.NET MVC at Microsoft.
http://nerddinner.codeplex.com/ on codeplex, is where you can go and know more about it. This is an open-source app, so source-code can be downloaded at codeplex.
Here: http://tinyurl.com/aspnetmvc, you can also download the first chapter of the book, a complete walk-through of building NerdDinner.
You can see a live-demo of the app here: http://www.nerddinner.com/
All the links, i shall post here: NerdDinner Resources links(just to keep them all at one easy place, this is for me!).
Here is a compilation of all the links. This resource list will be a one-point go to. As NerdDinner grows, the list will too.
